I just recently finished hosting the Hope Springs Eternal
Contest and wanted to promote my Host’s Favorite Story in this week’s
review.
I selected Lost and Found as my favorite story in the bunch
because it really nailed not only the theme of the contest – hope, but was also
a lovely romantic story written around the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. Coldplaywhore and Risbee are two talented
writers, and when they come together, it always feels a little bit like
magic.
Lost and Found, as I said above, is set in the aftermath of
Hurricane Katrina when aid workers initially came down to work on rebuilding
the historical city of New Orleans. Here
we find Edward and Bella both coming from different cities right before they’re
first year of college to try and lend a hand to people who were in need. The plot is so delicately woven through the
past into the present where Bella and Edward unexpectedly meet again at Alice
and Jasper’s wedding. There are of
course complications and misunderstandings, like most love stories do, but I
just couldn’t put this story down until the very end when I found out if love
had indeed conquered all.
Give it a chance. It
really is a lovely read.
I want to also give a shout out to the other winners from
the Hope Springs Eternal Contest, which I really encourage you to read. Including one written by our
very own Admin, KatieCav!!
