The Christmas Gift By: Astridt244 @Astridt244

Pairing: Sam/Leah
Status: One Shot
Rating: M
Warnings: Language, Sexual Content

Fate’s Christmas Gift is a One Shot in Leah’s Pov. We get to see and feel what Leah felt leading up to Sam’s first phase, what their relationship was like, what and who she was before the Wolf changed her. This One Shot is brilliantly written and captures the range of emotions from love, fear and anger. Captivating you from the first sentence, to the very last word.

Fate’s Christmas Gift takes place from November to December, and answers the question how much can your life change in one month.

Leah could not be happier. She knew that she was going to marry him, and she was excited to begin their life together.

She heard her mother introduce Emily to him. When he glanced over at Emily, who had her hand out to shake his, Leah felt him stiffen."Sam?" she asked, concerned. She felt his body begin to quake and a growl rumble through him... Just like before. She looked at her mother; her father came in from the backyard. Leah rubbed Sam's back, trying to calm him. "What's wrong Sam?"He let her go and ran out of the house in the blink of an eye.”
I highly recommend this One Shot, actually I recommend everything from this Author!

Fate's Christmas Gift won 3rd place in the JBNP Christmas Contest, check this One Shot out and all of Astridt244's writing.

If On A Winter's Night by Touchstone67

Pairing: Edward/Jasper
Rating: M, AU/AH

Summary: One fateful, winter's night, Edward and Jasper's lives are turned upside down. Is their relationship strong enough to withstand the aftermath, or will they be driven apart forever?

Time to put the big girl/boy pants on ladies and gentlemen, this story is not for the faint of heart. The story begins on New Year's Eve, the boys are in love and about to take their relationship to the next level when fate steps in and the unthinkable happens. How is this new relationship going to survive such tragedy?

I haven't had this many ups and downs emotionally since watching 'Little House on the Prairie' when I was a kid. By the end of the first chapter, I was on the edge of my seat and I've experienced every emotion since then from heart-breaking tears to laughter to anger. The story alternates between the present and the past, with alternating points of view. Just when you think you can't take the present angst, the author gives you an endearing flashback of the development of their relationship that leaves you swooning and pieces your heart back together.
Outside the room, the universe continued, changing every second, every second that Edward walked the line between life and death, people went on with their lives; patients came and left, visitors hugged relatives, doctors gave orders.
I hated them all. I hated how they got to smile and hug and love while I sat there wondering if Edward would ever do any of those things again.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and concentrated on another hallway many miles away.
I slammed the locker closed and he was there. Jumping, I shook my head. "Jesus, Cullen, you scared the shit out of me," I said, slinging my backpack over my shoulder. Glancing around, he gave me a quick wink.
"Sorry, love," he whispered. "Just wanted to say hey."
"Hey," I said followed by a contented sigh. Looking down both directions of the hall, I saw it was empty and I pushed him against the locker, placing a knee between his thighs.
"Damn," he whispered, his head falling back against the lockers with a bang as my lips went to my favorite spot, the sensitive flesh of his neck right above the collar of his tee shirt. I quickly nibbled up to his earlobe where I let out a long, wet breath.
"I love how you taste," I murmured before standing up straight and adjusting my suddenly tight jeans. He growled and wrapped his hand around my neck, pulling my lips to his for a quick kiss. It was risky, we both knew it, but sometimes we chanced it anyway. Part of me wondered if he didn't want to get caught, to be forced out instead of us having to decide the right time.
"Likewise," he smiled as he broke the kiss. "See you in chem?"
"Yep. Be safe, baby."
"See ya soon, love," he replied, already heading down the hall to his class, breaking into a run when he realized he was going to be late.

Thanks to Edward, I also developed an appreciation for The Beatles in a way I never thought I would. Read this fic and you'll see what I mean. If you're worried that the fic is sounding a little like too much angst and not enough sexy times, no worries there. This author provides very tangy but sweet lemons. This is one of those reviews that is almost impossible to write without spoilers so I'm going to leave it short and sweet. Hopefully I have left you curious enough to check out this amazingly sweet and angsty fic.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to everyone. As Edward would say "Be safe."
