Okay so I wanted to take a minute to talk about this fic that I've recently become absolutely obsessed with. As soon as I read it I realized that I wanted to feature it on the blog, but it crosses so many different boundaries that it's truly hard to classify.
So this story starts right after Jake has to stop hanging out with Bella at the orders of Sam. Except instead of putting her big girl panties on, Bella runs for the hills, thinking no one would miss her if she just disappeared. The only problem Edward is already on his way home. This is the start of a huge man hunt for Bella by the Cullens who are accompanied surprisingly by Jacob. They're searching in the last direction that Alice saw Bella heading in which was toward California. However what they don't know is that Bella had been captured by Victoria who had decided that simply destroying her would no long effect Edward as she first thought. So she
decided on something bigger for revenge. She took Bella with her to Volterra Italy as proof of the Cullen violation of the law. When Aro can't hear Bella's thoughts he's intrigued and decides that her life is simply to valuable to waste...
Okay let me talk about why I fucking love this fic. I love love love the way she portrays the voltouri in this fic! I really do. I never in a million years thought I'd find a fic that would make me love them and this one does. The whole group don't act in the same manner as the Cullens. They have more of the dynamic of a small town or city. However the core of the Voltouri is a different story entirely. The leaders act very much like brothers and Aro and his wife act very much like the adoptive parents the wish to be for Bella. Marcus takes on the role of loving uncle quite
nicely and Ciaus...well Ciaus is pretty much the same, but that's not the point. Her portrayal of the characters is something so completely unique that one even comes to love Jane. You heard me. I was rooting for JANE! It's crazy I know.
Let me warn you. Once you start reading this story you won't want to stop reading till you run out of chapters. Also if like me you're an emotional reader have your tissues available for the first part of this story. Bella is in a deep depression, and it shows. Als
o there is some non-canon leanings in this story. Bella is changed and she's living with the Voltouri that means that she's a human eater. Bloodlust changes over into real lust and she chooses a sweet Felix, who reminds me a great deal of Emmett in most fics, to be her partner. Aro steps in to stop it from progressing too far, but some things DO occur. If thoughts of Bella with someone else in any way make you upset, remember this isn't the same Bella she's different and it's more of her body reacting to the changes within her than anything else. She does love Felix but she's not 'in love' with him, just as he isn't 'in love' with her.
This story is fantastic! I was sitting there wondering where this story
had been my whole life. GO READ THIS STORY RIGHT THIS MINUTE. I probably didn't do it justice because I'm sick but trust me on this my fellow fic h00rs it's so worth your time.
