Summary: Edward finds himself back in the little beach town of his childhood when he inherits the local bar from his uncle. The elusive, pretty girl next door has killer legs, a sketchbook and secrets that are slowly eating her alive.
I don’t know how I found this little fic, all I know is that I am glad I did. You all will quickly come to realize that I love angsty stories. I mean, like I would rather read angst than anything else; even if it means sitting at my computer bawling like a baby while my family looks at me like I’ve lost my mind. Well, this has all the makings of a good angsty story. Edward has an almost non-existent relationship with his dad since his mother has died. Bella has a huge secret that she’s obviously running from that has brought her to this little beachside community. Bella and Edward get off to a shaky start when they first meet and his flirty nature throws a kink into Bella’s life.
One of the things that I’ve liked about this so far is that Edward and Mike are friends. It’s rare to find a story that has them being friendly with one another. Sure, there’s a little bit of competition between them, but they’re buddies. Usually, Edward is only buddies with Emmett and Jasper; but I’ve read five chapters and haven’t heard anything about Jasper yet and we just got introduced to Emmett’s character. I hope we get to see more interaction between Edward and Mike as the story progresses.
In the last chapter primarycolors posted, we see that Bella is developing feelings for Edward and she’s trying her hardest to deny them. Edward tells her that he’s tired of staying away from her and manages to hurt her feelings while asking her for her phone number. As he apologizes, Bella decides that they can be friends. Only friends. Edward agrees, but is obviously not happy with this. What I want to know is will their friendship grow into something more? Why don’t you read this with me and we’ll find out together.
